In response to Effie1959s post about Characteristics of the Narcissist... Holy cow, this describes my husband to a tee! Some of these things I've never been able to put into words, until reading this. I mean, when someone (ie marriage counselor, friend, etc) asks me what the problem is, they all are just kinda filed under "being an asshole". It's nice to have a list to actually go by, to separate the different behaviors. Thanks for posting this, and the original comment, which is also so much like him, it's scary!

I dx'd batshit with Narcissism in '05. Too bad I didn't trust my own perceptions in '07 when he came back again and was STILL a narcissist....or in '11.....

Thanx so much for posting this. I've never seen this NPD side but it's so true. Although, is it me or some of those "mean" ideas are just their flow, not their intention? Ns could fall in love, they could feel it I believe. They have their "normal" periods but when the manic phase kicks in...

You wrote Ns make us crazy, or crazier. That's my problem now (question in another tread)...Sometimes I feel like I am crazy now still thinking about my BP or N person, and I know that it was "injected" in me.

My boyfriend with BP dumped me this past Sunday...and your post describes his behaviour quite effectively.

The kicker? I'm pregnant with his child. And he's bailed.

Wow, my husband has 46 or 46 of those traits. Give the man a prize...
