Argh! Seriously, my anxiety is making me crazy. It's actually irritating Dan, too, but he's being nice about it at the moment.

It's like the more stable he gets, the more anxious I become.

weird.

Do you take anything or see a therapist too?

I am on anxiety meds and anti-d's myself... I think maybe when they start stabilizing you finally have time to work on yourself... years of this has made me have to take something Smile

Ugh, I don't take anything.. I'm 'med-phobic'. But i might have to, I'm having a really hard time. My natural stuff isn't work, yoga isn't work, meditation isn't working...

I can't remember if I was always this way and just lost track of it in his chaos for a while, or if this is new?

I'm like that,, i hate taking meds,, but I look at is as a temporary thing to "get over the hump"... just not sure how long that will take... I've tried quitting and I was not ready!!

Are anti-anxiety meds addictive? I have a horribly addictive personality - I don't drink/smoke/whatever because I know I'd get hooked.

They can be,, as long as you take as prescribed you should be fine,, but there is always that risk, yes...

I haven't had addiction issues with my "chill pills". I've also kept the dosage real low to just help me through the chaotic times. We become so submerged in the chaos of BP that we're always waiting for the next shoe to drop. Yes, even when they're good, we're so accustomed to it that we are lying in wait. Walking on eggshells. Dealing with BP SO changes us, whether or not we wanted it.

The "chill pills" have been VERY helpful for me,, I would shake from anxiety,, or take stuff out on my poor kids, I had no patience.. this takes the edge off so I don't react, I "respond" Smile It is good for the whole family right now... You're right pam, it does take a toll when we think we are okay,, it can sneak up on you.

About a year ago it all came to a head for me where I was having anxiety and panic attacks. The doc has put me on an anti-anxiety med which has helped emencily, and I to have addiction issues but don't feel that it is an issue. I have gone to a minimal maintance dose.

Savings, you have nothing to loose by talking to your doc about it and giving some meds a try.
