MDJunction to me

cinderella"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

So, last night/ early this morning we went to the hospital that the ER reffered him to. Go in, fill out forms, all that stuff. Well, he admits to all that he's done and how he feels like he's losing it. The lady said she'll call the doc and see if he needs to be committed. She came back and said that they don't feel he should be committed. He told her how he had thoughts of hurting me and how he did it and all the stuff he did. I was seriously pissed. Why would the ER doc send us there to committ him then they tell him,he's fine? They tell him they think he needs to adjust his meds and to go to the Mental Health center down the street from the house instead of pdoc.

All I can say is WOW! I can't believe the doc didn't even talk to him. What kind of hospital would do that??? I hope the mental health center will take this more seriously. Good luck! Let us know what happens.

Went to the mental health center and OMG for the first time ever in weeks I can feel relieved. They said that they're going to put him in anger management therapy, bipolar therapy, individual therapy, as well as adjust his medications. His appt isn't until next Thursday but they have a crisis line, deal directly w/ local hospitals, send counselors out. It's really awesome. I wanted to hug them.

When we first went in, the secretary was soooo nice. Nothing like the secretary of his pdoc. She explained how we fill out "The giant book" (all paperwork), go through financial department, and the different steps. The pharmacist came up to me and was talking to me about being on crutches then when we were looking at the pharmacy packet, she came up and introduced herself. The place is $7 more for the "consultation" and per doc visit, but after that it's half the price as our normal place. It's over 25 miles closer (each way) and overall I just felt relieved. Then after financial, we got sent to the one counselor that deals w/ seeing what meds he's on and overall what's wrong. She explained how he's going to be going to different groups and was able to fill in the blanks when he couldn't. She was able to find majority of his "triggers" that sent him off. Then we went back to the front desk and they set him an appt for next Thursday that is basically a 2 hour evaluation. Gave him all the brochures and emergency numbers.

Well, just having a big sigh of relief right now. After getting the run around and going through doctors (like his pdoc and her bitch secretary) and different hospitals, I'm sure I'm going to be able to sleep well tonight knowing that he's in good hands and not locked up. He even said to the counselor that he felt that the hospitals he went to just, "lock you up, medicate you on drugs you cannot afford, then spit you out." He's also so much comfortable going to this place.

I'm relieved for you, and I don't even know you, nor the first-hand struggle you've gone through. Basically, I'm on online sidekick for Jack, and except for the ups and downs of the emotional attachment, can only experience BPD through you guys.

For me, thank you for sharing. For you, I hope this is the first step to normalcy and awesome health for you two!
