Dear friends that are keeping up with my story,

Recap: Hubby admitted to hospital last Thursday with blood clot in leg and in lungs.

Update: Was transported to much larger teaching hospital in another city at 1am Sunday as he has bleeding on the brain. He had surgery today to put those filter things in so that the clots don't throw to brain, etc. Will get results on the brain bleed scans tomoro to see if he needs a neurosurgeon.

He is alert (until they give him pain meds lol) and is stable and on bp meds and this has really opened his eyes to what's important in life.

Soooo.... I am running on 3 hours of sleep in the last 48... gonna crash out.

Everyone who is religious, please keep praying.

And thanks to Warhorse for being a great bud lately...... seems she is a wise woman with good advice. (((wink)))

angel, this is so much for you to bear. my prayers will be with all of you. so so scary, but a teaching hospital, while short on the bedside manner, is long on the latest wisdom. i will pray that your doctors excel, too.

Angel: Guess I found your updated post???? I'm hoping you moved him to a teaching hospital, and they inserted the venal caval filters.... (and actually knew what they were).

Write again when you're awake?

No I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down

No I'll stand my ground

And I'll keep this world from dragging me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down"

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. It means so much to have people on your side and to talk to in times like these. They have been giving his bp meds to him every night (that we had run out of) so his bp is very well under control.... which is awesome.

I talked with cobra today and because he is in the hospital they are doing an emergency update and he will be showing as active on insurance in 24-48 hours.. which means by the time he comes home (which I think will be SEVERAL more days) I will be able to buy his bp meds and we will be on track. (THANK YOU GOD!!!)

Warhorse, yes... he has been sent to the teaching hospital that I told you about. It is huge and I got lost two times, but I found a short cut and what area to park in at the parking garage that gets me to the tower where his room is and it's much easier. Wink He has the filters already in place, had the surgery yesterday.

Tomoro he is having an MRI and a Lumbar puncture. They are thinking this area on the brain is not actually blood, but a calcification, but they are going to be certain there aren't any brain issues with both tests. If there aren't, he will be back on blood thinners to thin the clots in the lungs. If there is, then the doc said we will discuss alternatives.

He is in the "step down" unit which is one step under ICU. He is alert and got irritated at me when I was trying to feed him his dinner... good sign there. lol

Soooooo.. that's about all I know and we won't have the test results until Thursday. So, I will update it when I find out more.
