Hi,

I had to join this group (I already joined the borderline group, because I suspect one of my son's is borderline)...but you remind me so much of the ups and downs I went thru with my cheating husband. It was not normal....the ups and downs, the I will give her up, no I won't....we will move away from town so I can get away from her, then the next day "I'm not moving"!!! It was like riding an out of control roller coaster.

I finally took control of my life, and it really feels good. I am recovering, and rebuilding who I am. Now I suffer bad treatment from both of my sons but especially one of them...verbal assaults, silent treatemnt, rages at me...won't come to visit, or go anywhere where "I am at"...and seems to think his father walks on water.

I have been divorced for 4 years, apart from him for 5. I felt a bit like you seem to: responsible for him...I was worried off and on in the marriage that if I left, he might kill himself. He even did threaten it once during one argument.

I understand the part about him leaving for the weekend to be with the woman, and then returns to you after his weekend. WHAT THE HECK do they think? Mine did that crap at the end also.

He worked with her, and I would see him take all this extra effort to get ready in the morning.

It was nauseating, humiliating, and downright cruel to be put in that position. As one of the posts here commented, and I think it was a great comment, YOU ALREADY have 4 kids....do you need a fifth?

He may be Bi Polar, with a mix of narcissim also...have you read much about the NPD??? I would almost bet on that combo!!! You have our support ... this site is truly a Godsend for sharing! Take care!
