I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

Hi everyone,

I will try to make this short. I'm 22, married(seperated-but working on it) and have a 3-year old daughter from a previous relationship. I am a paraprofessional for a preschool program for kids with severe disabilities. I'm a part-time college student working on my b.s in psychology, I have been dealing with severe depression, unspecified mood disorder(once thought to be bipolar disorder), and ADD for much if not all of my life. My daughter's long-gone father is bipolar and I spent 5 years in a rollercoaster relationship with him. My best friend of 15 years has severe bipolar 1. Now even though my husband was diagnosed since childhood with ADHD, I'm completely convinced that he is bipolar and I'm trying, through marriage counseling, individual counseling, and psychiatry to get him diagnosed and get him the help he truly needs. I found this site because I was googling extensively for information on medications and diagnoses and all kinds of medical information. So here I am looking for people who understand what kind of monsterous problems I am dealing with.

I hope to be able to lend my opinion and friendship to those of you who want it..I am no expert or doctor by far, but I've had plenty of experience with myself and those around me, and several years of amateur research. Someday it will be all official!
