So the last few days, my bipolar SO has been very insecure and paranoid. He has questioned everything I do and has that "out to hurt him" attitude. He told me he just knew i was going to leave him because im too pretty for him. Today, I tell him this:

I love you brandon. You are everything I will ever need or want. I will always adore you and be faithful to you. I promise you that. Your heart is safe with me.

He responds with this:

I know you are a great person its just sometimes i feel like people leave me because im too hard to deal with. I get down on myself and cant see why anyone would want to be with me then i start to feel like its all unavoidable because Im too messed up.

WTF am i suppose to say to THAT?

anyone else feel free to comment as well...

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much anyone could say. I too have been there with ...You'd be better off without me, you dont need my crap, etc. etc... No matter how much reassurance we give, no matter how many times we tell them we still love them, they find it hard to believe.

Oh how I wish there was a magic way to make them believe but unfortuantely there's not. Sorry youre having a hard time right now, Keep your head up

Ok darlin, let's get down to the nitty gritty...Our poor little guy wants his tummy scratched & his ego stroked.......not a bad thing, but ain't it gettin old??? Don't even listen to his babble about how bad he thinks he is....he is trying to get his head patted again. Stop with the words....he doesn't get it if he is on a downer....He just wants to feel better....words won't do it!!!!! You gotta smile, and show the love....keep your words to yourself...

What are you supposed to say when he downs himself.......you say.." you're right, sometimes you are very hard to live with. SMILE WALK AWAY.. just to the other room....not OUT unless it is forever. Sometimes ya just gotta give em the old guilt ball back...let them play with it for a while!!

Love

Gloria
