My Sig.Other is manic right now. Its killing me. Its killing our relationship. I am so desperate because it is way way beyond my control. I am looking for answers for anything I can do to stop it. He is NOT normal.

He has spent around 1500 dollars that we do NOT have on things that we don't need. He is so manic that he cannot have a conversation one about anything that is important. All he cares about is sex and pushing for more sex and if he can cross any boundaries with sex. He wants to go out and party all the time, is ok sleeping 6 hours or less, and has NO clue as to why you can't do that either, or why YOU might have any sort of problem(s).

Its like he is living in a dream world where he REFUSES to admit there are serious problems going on. He just wants to have fun & party. He would NEVER admit that any of this is manic.

I feel like this triggered when he started taking his new drug.He was not taking a drug at all before. Instantly he snapped. It seemed like it was day and night. I came home one day and bam. There it was. He was yelling at me, telling me everything I did wrong.

Every day there is something new I am doing wrong.

He is on a cloud so high that anything I do that doesnt keep him there or lift him up higher is wrong.

I am desperate to get him out of mania. I need to see him as the real person again. How long will this last? Anything I can do to stop it?

Anyone-- can you give me insight, advice and ways to stop it?

I am desperate.

(((HUGS)))) I'm so sorry you are going through this. Just remember, this will pass, but be prepared because normally after a severe mania, a severe depression will follow...at least in my experience. One can't tell how long a mania will last. What med is he on? Is he on a cocktail of meds? If he is on an antidepressant alone, that can trigger a mania.

Good luck!

PBGirl , Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to bring him out of it . If it was because of a new med then he needs to contact his doctor about it . Perhaps you could call him as well.

I agree with lilsea that you need to find out what the med and dosage is and someone needs to contact his doctor. How long has he been on this new med and what is it?

I stole this from someone else in one of these forums - but it fits! ;)
