Hi- My bp ex, who incidently NEVER wanted to go on vacations when we were married (would say things like

...You know I'm a homebody... Oh, I don't want to go THERE...etc.)

Would be MISERABLE when we would finally GO on a vaca, about once every 4 years!

Anyway, we have been divorced 8 months, and have been getting along pretty good, he has decided to go on a

road trip vacation with our daughter in a couple weeks.

!!!???

Now, beside the fact that he has been anti vacation...

the real issues for me are:

He drinks a lot

He has road rage

He is very moody and prone to outbursts

He frequently got lost when we rarely DID go someplace

He is going to visit relatives he was out of contact with for fifteen years, out of the clear blue sky.

These people were, and from hearing talk from other relatives over the years, still are, very big drinkers themselves.

They plan on being out on their boat.

My daughter is a little uncomfortable because she doesn't know them.

AND OF COURSE I AM FREAKING BECAUSE OUR DAUGHTER IS GOING TO BE WITH HIM A THOUASAND MILES AWAY!!!

I told our daughter.... if Dad gets lost and starts

yelling and cursing, just keep your ipod plugged in and read your magazines......If everyone is very drunk and you need me I will hop a plane to come get you....

Am I being too much of a worry freak????

I think part of this trip might be his manic spending, because he honestly can't stand the thought of having one nickel to his name. He has spent about twenty-three thousand dollars since March, and told me he only had a thousand dollars of his divorce money left after he bought a huge flat screen TV (that he didn't need) about a month ago.

So, I am just stressing about him going on this trip with our daughter, but he has joint custody, and she is 14 years old.

Needed to vent, any advise will be appreciated

Well at 14 she will be pretty aware of what is going on and will be able to call if she needs you. If she doesn't want to go she can say so and the court can't make her....

Hi bejeweled- I don't think she cares to go, but she doesn't want to hurt her father's feelings.

He is too much!!! I was talking to him today, and I said, you know there's lots of cool historic places to take her to while you're there. Are you looking anyplaces up on the internet? I'm thinking of all the museums and aquariums & historic sites, etc. etc.

He said, "Oh, I'm going to take her to South of the Boarder."

OMG! LOL LOL LOL
