MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

Caught my ex husband (who I live with) in a lie today! He does not know yet. he said he was going to his brothers store in Long Beach, CA, about an hour away. Anyway, right after he gets off the phone with me and I ask him why his phone was off, he says oh his battery was low and he was at his brothers store. he left at 10;30 in the morning and said he was going to get gas and get his hair cut, well anyway, right after I get off the phone with him, he callls our 13 year old son on his cell phone to ask our son to give him his checking account # on the bottom of his check in his check book. Then it dawned on me! (My ex husband has a bad gambling problem BTW) call his bank! I call (our money and accounts are separte) and I know his social so I get through and OMG! He has taken out today $204.00 then $204.00 again then $304.00, HE WAS @ THE CASINO blowing all the money!!! BILL MONEY!!!! Now I'm wondering how long he has been doing this behind my back??? He usually goes to his brother's store when he broke and works a day and his brother gives him like $300.00, more out of pitty then the actual amount of time he's worked. Anyway, he's been so unstable i afraid to confront him and I don't want him to kick my brother out because he's mad and he gambles till all the money is gone. he plays 21 and can be UP to $2,000.00 and when loose it all back and do this for hours till he's broke! To top it off somehow my child support check I live on and take care of my kids on got put on his check and was not sent to me! I'm at my mom's house tonight because were having a big community yard sale tomorrow and she said I had cirles under my eyes, remember I have been sooooooo dizzy all day and felt detached from myself, I looked in the mirror and I was like, yikes! I could hardly stand up in the shower tonight I am so dizzy! I feel like crap! My brother who I'm supporting who just got out of prison is not making it any easier! I'm drained!!!!

Thanks for listening

You don't give us much to go by to say whether or not we think he is BP, but plenty to say whether or not he has a gambling problem. HE DOES!

Now about the BP question, we need a little more info. Has he ever seen a psychiatrist? Been diagnosed? Does he have mood swings from manic (can't sleep, talks constantly, very active, walks a lot, etc) to depressive (sleeps a lot, doesn't want to do anything, seems very down, etc)?

Do a search on bipolar disorder and see how some of the professionals describe it and you might get a better idea as to whether or not he is. IF he is, this would be a great place for you to get support, understanding and advise on how we have dealt with our BP or our BP significant others. And if he is, he will need to get treatment for it. It won't just get better on it's own.

Let us know how things are going.
