Meds that help you concentrate

JoeStubbs

I am so tired of not having energy and not being able to concentrate at work. I have tried many different meds and so far nothing seems to work so I was curious if anyone else is taking anything that has worked for them. I am bad I probably should have kept a full list but I have taken Ritalin, Adderall, Vyvanse and Welbutrin to name a few and nothing has done the trick. I have a pdoc appointment today and will not leave until they give me something new to try before I lose my job.

Concentration is sometimes an issue for me. It comes and goes. I haven't ever mentioned concentration issues because I get so lost in the moment when I have appointments with my pdoc You have given me something to discuss Thursday with my pdoc. Sorry I don't have a perfect answer for you Joe. Sad

I take Dexedrine and it works for me. It's a time release medication and lasts for about 10 hours. You might want to mention this one to him.

I actually find that xanax works for me. Yesterday I was incredibly jittery and distracted (I also drink a lot of coffee which doesn't help the situation) and within 15 minutes I was fine. It even works for my mother who just quit smoking after 40 years and has no mental disorders/issues anything like that but is finding herself to be very hyper and not able to concentrate, as most people who quit smoking after that long do. Good luck! I feel for you.

How is the Dexedrine working for you?

Sorry I should have let everyone know my apologies. They started me on only 10mg which I know is not enough for me but even with only the 10mg I am noticing a little difference so I am cautiously optimistic. Thanks for asking Joy....

Cool, I'm glad you are noticing a little difference even at 10mg. This is promising for you. I take 30mg a day and that works fine for me. I take 2 15mg pills in the morning. It doesn't last as long as it should since I metabolize quickly, but for the time it does work, it's good. I hope it works for you!!
