MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Okay, here's my problem. I quit the bank because I couldn't really handle the stress of it. So, I applied to a clothing store. I passed the assessment test that they gave me and they gave me a call.

I answered and the first thing they asked me was "Are you planning on going back to your university in the fall?" Of course I said yes, I wasn't going to lie. After that I already knew what he was going to say..."Well, we might be able to hire you because of the training process and you'll only be able to work 2 1/2 months here.

My questions are why would it matter? I come back for vacations all the time during college. My breaks are sometimes for a month. So, I would plan on working for them again.

My second question, are they allowed to do this type of thing? Discriminating against college students?

Third, he asked me if I still wanted to come in for an interview on Monday. I told him yes. Why would he ask me to come in for interview if I might not even get the job?

You ask excellent questions. You may not like the answers.

They are there to run a business. If you can not work when they need you, then why hire you?

Secondly, being a college student is not a protected class. It is not discrimatory.

Lastly. Go for the interview. The more experience you get the better off you are.

My advice is worth what you paid for it – nothing!

He might be after someone for a fulltime role and feels once uni starts u will need to cut back on hours or even. It depends on how students have behaved in the past. With that in mind he still wants to interview you so ask him what was behind his comments.

Jarhead is certainly correct when he says the man has a business to run and needs the right peoe, training new staff is an expensive job so you want to know it wont go to waste.

I am not a Dr and therefore are not able to provide medical advice, the opinions I express are mine and based on my experiences and should not be taken as anything other than my opinion.

You awake as if from a nightmare to find yourself standing in front of a blank wall, dazed with no idea as to how you got there.

You feel something in your hand. You look down to see you are holding paint brush, you are confused. Out of the corner of your eye you see a table, on that table is some paint. The colours make you feel happy and safe, you look to the other side, and there is another table with paint. The colours are dark and remind you of your nightmare, a chill runs down your spine at the thought of it.

You look back at the canvas and see something you missed before. Now you understand. you chose a colour, and begin to paint.

Above the wall was written,

Your life
