My wife was happiest when pregnant. She was not diagnosed at that time and was always depressed, though it manifested itself more like an unhappy, dissatisfied wife. Until she became pregnant, when she was loving and caring and a happy wife. We didn't know about the bp until recently.

The HCG hormone in your body will make the bp symptoms tilt toward the manic side. Guard your heart. Talk to your spouse, OB and your counselor ALOT. Tell him exactly how you feel. There can be horrible consequences from poor decisions in pregnancy mania. After her last pregnancy, she obsessed about suicide because of her guilt. Be honest. Talk it through. If there are issues, he would rather know so he could help you and change what he needs to than find out years later you made regrettable decisions.

She is the best mom and her mothering, nurturing side was enhanced in pregnancy. I am sure you will be a terrific mom. Just research going into it what dangers you are possibly going to run up against.
