I'm pescetarian I know someone will say that isn't a real vegetarian, but i have been both vegan and vegetarian for an extended period of my life and have always felt best physically and mental eating seafood in conjunction with a vegetarian diet. I'm finding with this pregnancy though that i'm craving more protein and typically in the form of meat. I dream about medium steaks smothered in onions and mushrooms and garlic butter and turkey sandwiches with avocado and pepperoni pizza. My vegan fia...

Hey everyone I am glad to have joined this group. I have been a member of the bipolar support group for about a year now and though I have not shared much I have gotten a tremendous amount of support and insight knowing that there are people who feel just as i do. I have recently discovered that I am about 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I had mixed feelings when I found out mostly happy but also extremely worried as my last pregnancy was very tough (toxemia and bipolar disorder) I stayed o...

Thats tough when Insurance is an issue, you should be able to get help no matter what. I kinda understand since when I found out I was pregnant I was no longer able to see my Psych because I was getting on medicare so I had to switch and have only seen the new psych once since I got pregnant in january. Also a couple months after switching Psychs my therapist dropped me saying I was stable and had no goals or plans to work on. Im still in the process of replacing my therapist. Its tough when...

Good luck to your pregnancy, I was on the same medications and dose you were when you got pregnant and I was about 8weeks when I found out I was pregnant and now 5months almost 6 and the baby is doing okay, the baby has some extra fluid on his kidneys but I dont think it has anything to do with the medications I was taking, doctors say its common in boys and found other people on the pregnancy sites found the same with their babies. So hoping to deliver a healthy baby boy in October. Hope all ...

I have a ten year old and now expecting another one in sept. It was definitely worth it, but I can't lie it's been hard. You really have to be in a stable place to go thru a pregnancy. I am staying on a low dose of antidepressants for this one because I did the first one with no meds and it was a nightmare. I would say if you really want a child it's worth it, just be prepared for the ups and downs and lack of sleep.

Also, I didn't breast feed so I was able to go right back on my mood s...

That's awful that people are so rude, sorry to hear that. I never say anything to anyone because you just don't know if someone is pregnant or not even if you think you do.

Good luck getting there...

I agree I am not breast feeding, I need to be stable that is most important. I didn't breast feed with my first and he is smart and healthy so it's not a huge deal to me if I don't. I understand it is important to some people though....

I also at 16 weeks gestation was told my numbers were high for possible Down Syndrome. I went 2 days later to Maternal Fetal Medicine for testing. The Ultrasound showed a perfectly healthy baby, just big for her gestational age. I opted to do a Amnio knowing the risk of possible miscarriage. Results were perfectly normal and here I am at 38 weeks 1 day pregnant, delivering via repeat cesarean next week Thursday. It's another girl, makes 3 girls and a boy for us. Opting to do a tubal as I am gett...

Hi, its best to speak to your psychiatrist about what medications are safe to take whilst pregnant. I just found out that Im pregnant last week and this was completely unplanned so I was still taking my meds. Im on lamictal and prozac and my pdoc has advised me to stay on these as the benifits of taking them outweigh the risks to the baby. The thought of taking meds while pregnant makes me very anxious but the thought of stopping meds and being unstable again terrifies me! I guess if it was a pl...
