Hi Leigh,

Brain surgery, that must be really scary. I am glad to hear you have lots of support. I know with God's help everything will turn out wonderful for you. What a great idea to have your ipod there to listen too. I love Sarah McLachlan and think she would be a great addition to your music. I will keep you in my prayers Leigh and hope to hear you are doing great soon. Hugs, Nancy

Hi Leigh,

Best of luck in your upcoming surgery. I can only imagine how scary it is, but they have come so far when it comes to brain surgery.

Do you mind if I ask why you require the surgery? I understand if you don't feel like discussing it with a stranger. I only ask because sometimes you just want to be able to tell others about your journey.

I will keep you in my prayers.

I should have said that I find Josh Grobin's "You lift me up" very uplifting (pardon the pun).

thank you dear paulette.

this is so kind of you. i have a disease called Trigeminal neuralgia,

Its chronic electric.shocks up the left side of my face so bad it make you not want to go on. i have had it for 4 1/2 years and have been so close to taking my life its that's bad. Its common nick name is the suicide disease. it is what its name sake is! no one can see your pain so no one believes your in pain neither, this is what has been difficult to live with the dis -belief.beside the horrendous pain.its like tooth ache times 1000 million times worse. It is quite rare, and nobody near me at all has ever heard of it. it can be a tumour or in my case its when a blood vessel is swollen and pressing on the nerve in the brain that sends pain into your face all the time. so every time our blood pumps around the body it the sets the pain off over and over again. none stop. its a total nightmare. the tiniest hair touching my face can set the pain off, a kiss, yawning, eating.the on set of the cold makes you shiver so it sets the pain off even more. I'm having what's called micro vascular decompression. they have to lift the trigeminal nerve(pain nerve away from the hearing nerve and also the balance nerve and wrap it in teflon. its frightening me but i haven't been out properly since my beautiful mom died since last year.i only visited her. but other than that i have been like a vegetable, and my ptsd seems to have thrived. but joining here as been wonderful. thanks for asking and i know i will be ok, i have two children and they need there mom. hope i havent gone on.

hugs leigh xx

Oh, Leigh,

I've heard that this is extremely painful. Actually my paternal grandfather had it. I don't remember him but I remember hearing about the agony he was in.

I'm happy that you will be having the surgery. As scary as it sounds, you will be so relieved once you don't have that pain anymore. Pain can be so isolating and you've probably been feeling very lonely. That will change, I am sure of it. Meanwhile, know that others care and are thinking about you.

Take care,

Paulette

hugs paulette thank you love. no it is isolating as no one can see or feel how bad it is, not wanting anyone too either. but if you have bruise or cut. people associate that with pain. but when you look so well, then your not having pain. its been so hard to live with.one person said to me but its not terminal? in know but it has been to me as i have been so down wanting too end it all. now im getting help and you are all fantastic!!!!!

Hi Leigh, Glad you are looking for those calming uplifting songs to listen and take with you. Josh Groban's stuff is good. You are loved, You Raise Me Up, Oh Holy Night and some more. Also, I like Faith Hill's There'll You'll Be. I'll have to think of some others to suggest to you. You will be forever in my thoughts and prayers my dearest friend. Much love to you, Rachele

Another song you may like Leigh is "My Wish" by the Rascal Flatts.
