I thought it might be good to see how we give ourselves comfort when we start missing our loved one(s). For me sometimes I will talk to her picture or think of her telling me that it was alright. I sometimes try to distract myself by doing hobbies or going out.

I find my dogs really give me comfort. My smallest dog, Abby, seems to know when I need that extra love. My dogs really brighten up my day.

That is a good way, southern. Keeping ourselves busy does help. When the memories were coming a lot I realized how much I was like my mom. Now when I do something my mom used to do it makes me feel like she is smiling at me. I hope others can find ways for comfort soon.

I have photo albums to look at to help me. Also in times of extreme stress I have a locket with my mom and dad's pictures in it that I wear so I can feel close to them

I found a watch my mom had. I am going to get some links taken out so it fits me. I will feel like she is with me and smiling. It is good to know she can smile again.

I seek out support from family and friends. Looking at my children really comforts me and gives me reason to go on. I wish there was something else but I really don't know right now.

My Mom and I shared this special place in the back yard. So now when I need comfort I go to that place and talk to Her. Lately I end up crying a lot there. But it helps take away the pain too.
