MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

Hello,

My name is Renae and I found this web site doing some research about beaver fever. I find it very interesting that this nasty little parasite goes by a few different names. I have a personal story that I would like to share with fellow sufferers of this horrific diabolical friend. I am a mother of twin boys, now ten and a half months old. A few days after being home from the hospital after a horrific c section, I had the worse case of constipation known to man. I thought I would literally die. It went from that to normal and then after being home for about a month it all went down hill from there. I have at this time suffered from explosive diarrhea. Cramps and pain I didn't think I would survive. I thought it to be IBS, stress, new born babies, twins on top of that. Finances. You name it. I finally consulted a doctor's opinion and he was sure it was IBS. Took two different meds and nothing even remotely worked. I gave up and just suffered through. My doctor ran stool samples, blood work and even suggested a colonoscopy, no thank you. I heard everything under the sun and never thought it might be a parasite. It is hard to find the right information about diarrhea online. Always leads you to some kind of intestinal disease or cancer or blah blah blah. Tests upon tests. Then I stummbled across a word, Giardiasis. I had every single symptom of this nasty little thing. My doctor fought me tooth and nail about prescribing me Flagly. I just started taking it today. I hope and pray that it works. Doctor, not all but most laugh when you say it could be a parasite. They always seem to go to extreme treatments first. Ugh.,, did a lot of research on bottled water, especially bottled spring water and was horrified to what I found. Any one with a similar experience please, please contact me to swap information and just for support. Thank you so much for your time and for reading all of this...sincerely, Renae
