Hey everyone,

I have run out of lunch options since finding out about BE. All I eat is chicken, turkey, green veggies and fruits. Oh, I also eat peanut butter and jelly. I had a tuna salad sandwich on whole wheat from a restaurant near my job and it was delicious. Is this something that I should avoid or is it okay?

Hi! The big question to ask yourself is how do you feel after eating the tuna. Everyone has different triggers, so you need to listen to your own body. Also, I think we all 'cheat' on our diet from time to time, and that's perfectly fine. Just try to eat healthy most of the time, and be creative woth how you cook the foods you do eat. Good luck with finding what works for you. Hugs, Muriel

all nuts and peanut butter set me off....and i loooove peanut butter cookies!

Tuna is good for you, but skip the mayo. too much fat in it. it adds over 100 calories ot most sandwhiches, and restaraunt sandwiches are allready pretty heavy in calories.

Thanks guys. I have been eating the peanut butter and jelly. Not sure if I'm setting off my stomach. I'm sure I would know though. I felt pretty sick before. Also, I was trying to avoid microwaving the food; I read that people with barrett's should avoid foods from the microwave. Best of luck to you Muriel and Rob.

Best thing to do in that case is stop eating what ever it is you suspect and see if theres a change. but only change one thing at a time if you can, therefore you dont confused as to watch changes effected you. [b]

Speaking of giving things up, I used to love chips and salsa and a friend from Puerto Rico used to make some real good hot Salsa. i used to eat stuff that wasn't volcanic hot but hotter than most of my family could handle. but not anymore, too much tomato in it!![b]Sick
