I had a follow-up endoscopy yesterday, six months after the one that diagnosed Barrett's. The doctor said the Barrett's was gone! No ablation. I've been taking Kapidex (PPI) and Colestipol for bile reflux, as well as a pill called gastrazyme, which my homeopathic doctor says has been known to help Barrett's. (I'd keep in mind that these are probably atypical results b/c of my lyme disease, which I believe triggered the Barrett's to begin with). Just thought I'd share, and fingers crossed that this result remains!

excellent. Kapidex messed me up pretty bad so i dropped off it after 2 weeks and went back to the prilosec. but the doctor tells me Prilosec OTC is for someone 130 kilos (about 160 lbs). so he's suggesting 2 in the morning and 2 at night.

might have to look into the other two items you were taking.

Fabulous! Just another great reason to get second opinions and recheck things. Good luck, and I am so happy for you! Hugs, Muriel

Thanks...colestipol is a bile binder, made of HCl. I had bile problems both before and after my gallbladder came out. Gastrazyme also adds good acid to the stomach.

Unfortunately, I'm still having to take the meds, at least for now. Also, I might have an esophageal diverticulum...but I guess it's better than Barrett's?
