Hi Iken and welcome. The group is small because it was only put up last week. It takes time to establish members. Tell everyone in your other groups about us if you don't mind. Roy said new groups take time to build. I hope we can help you to feel comfortable w/ us. I'm sorry you feel out of place in some of the groups, but I knew the feeling. I've had it for as far back as I can remember - kindergarten. We can make this one comfortable. We need more people around. W/ 85,000,000 of us, there have to be many in other groups. So plese help spread the word.

There are millions of boomers who use the computer. You're right, not as many of us as younger age groups, but home computers didn't come out until the late '70's and didn't really take off for a few years. So many of the younger generations started w/ them in school. They now use them in k=garten and have teaching games all the way down to toddlers.

But I heard a story once that was heartwarming. A friend was in line at the post office, and there was a young man dancing around as little kids do when they need the loo. He was holding a package of the size made for mailing floppies (this was before CD's). He finally said, to nobody in general, if anyone wanted to know what was in his package. My friend said she'd listen if he wanted to tell her. The kid's either uncle or grandfather was over 100 years old and writing his life story on the computer and sending it on disks to the guy in the PO. No idea what he was sending, but many people live active lives much longer these days.

Bel Kaufman, an author, turned 100 in December and took on a job as a professor in a university in January.

Also, please note, we're boomers, no l. That would make us women's underwear in England. lol

Thanks for stopping in. If there's anythng I can do for you, please let me know. Be aware that I'm on every day but have no schedule for anything.

Hope to see you again soon. Nice to meet you.

Warm welcoming wishes,

Sylvia

NOTE: I can't imagine anyone is surprised that distracted driving has overtaken drunk driving as the number one cause of death on the road. Please, y'all, keep your eyes sharp when you drive. The guy in the next car could be on a computer in the dash board (whoever dreamed that up should have to watch autopsies), while the one behind you is texting. It's important to be aware of those around you. The kid who ended my second to last life was in a huge SUV and on the telephone.
