OMG! I have just lost my cool! Here people in the know, whoever you are...want to pick on my sons sensitivities! Oh get out of the way. I do not care how big you are, how old you are, or what level of the heap you are at...if you mess with my kid one more time I am going to dog-you to the ends of the earth! You want a lesson, then read this...people who think they need to give lessons on reality and not giving-in or spoiling a kid...Do U have idiosyncracies, things that give you the willies and/or dislikes? Yes, then how do you think you are going to feel as I am going to dog-you on the next occassion I can with all the crap you would'nt want to take on 120 degree day in hell!?!

People should not be giving beth79 or her kid grief ['certain people' mentioned in her posting].

There are ppl , no matter what the age, who need to, GROW UP!!! Beth, I understand your anger. People can be so cruel when someone is Different. I was tormented for years do to my disability stemming fro surgery for a Brain tumor. Once they " GREW UP " what a change.

I need to vent as well.

My husband's friend was at my home 2 days ago. I was at work.

My son (age 2) has HFA.

My son came up to him and started squealing and hand flapping at the shirt he was wearing( my son is fascinated with all forms of print and letters).

My husband's friend freaked out and backed off and laughed hysterically.

THIS is the crap that pushes me to the limit.

I wanted to cry..then beat the crap out of this guy for ignorance.

I so want to take all the mistreatment, pain, hurt, embarrassment, ridicule, that my son WILL encounter in the future away from him so badly and wish it all upon me....

Hun you wish what we all wish, but it may have just been fear of the unknown for this person,if alex is the only child he has seen with autism it will be alien to him and probbaly a litle overwhelming.

Perhaps if you explain about autism and the fact that he likes letters (my sam is the same lol) it may give a little insight and he will feel guilty about his reactionsand begin to understand.

It is our job to educate because though autism is now"common" it is still little understood.

YES..I HATE IGNORANCE TOO!! OUR FAMILY MEMBERS DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND THINK MY SON IS BEING NAUGHTY OR STUBBORN! BEING HISPANIC IT IS HARD FOR THEM TO "GET IT!" SO I LEARNED TO IGNORE IT AND JUST LEAVE IF THEY PISS ME OFF.

I FINALLY GOT 2 T-SHIRTS FOR MY SON

IS MY AUTISM SHOWING? AND

I'M NOT IGNORING YOU..I'M JUST AUTISTIC!
