 Hi. My name is Becky and my son is autistic. We began to notice that something was wrong when he was only a couple of weeks old. Nick hated to be held or cuddled from very early on. He was delayed in all his major milestones. He started therpy when he was about 5 months old. He was in early intervention and when he was about 3 and a half he was diagnosed with Autism. Well now he is eight and in a regular 2nd grade class room with a full time aid. He is very smart when you can hold his attention for long enough. He talks now but sometimes he is hard to understand and he still has trouble communicating. His school is wonderful and they have brought in a teacher to educate his teachers on ways to help.

Welcome to the forum,I am shell mum of 6 four with autism,I also have Aspergers syndrome.

your child is a classic case of autism has two of mine were my aspies were much harder to diagnose I knew but getting others to listen was another matter lol
