MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Greeting to all my name is Johanna and I live in Okeechobee Florida. I found this site by simply googling something and got this but I am excited to have join b/c meeting you wonder ladies (dads..) gives my husband and I hope and comfort in knowing that others go through the ups and downs as we do and that we are not alone. I just started the very first Okeechobee Autism Support Group (O.A.S.G) and I am so excited. Perhaps i have to many big dreams and hopes but my goal is to turn the group into a great safe haven for those in my town to meet and greet and learn from one another. I will have to update you all as the group grows. It would be great to inspire others to create their own support groups if there isnt already one. i happen to live in a very small town. I hope to tackle issues, learn from mothers who have older kids, and simply be a mom..like have a moms day out! I'm so excited yall!My sons are my life and their uniqueness inspires me to do great things. They simply are my inspirations in life! Thank the good Lord... I sure do!

Welcome and good luck with your group, I think thats a wonderful thing to do. I moved to a small town and found a support group through a church and its been very helpful. I met people of all ages with autism and it has been very informative. I am so glad that there is one cause its not only good for me but my daughter as well they let us bring our children and they play in the gym and people are there to help supervise. It gives them a chance to met other kids as well. besides they provide activities and things to play with for all ages and snacks etc.. If they didn't provide this I would have not been able to go cause I have no one, its just my daughter and I. She has to go everywhere I do. But Most of all this site has been my most support and the group leader has been the most formative.
