good morning, after two decades of care for david, i am writing to you all, my first actual support group! timely meeting. dave is off to his 'job', a three month program to determine his ability to clean the screens for a silk-screen business in town. this is part of the post-high school year of 'what to do next?' i am not pleased with the degree of frustration i feel or the lack of patience i sense just under the surface, all the time. i think i am so tired i have depleted my own resources.... so i come here, now, to find that renewal... not that you all will be responsible, but that i know i must, and by being accountable here, i will slow my heart, settle my head and breathe, again, the sun is shining this morning, the difficult communications were had, the attempt to be lighthearted and fun was made, it is no easier today than it was when he was tiny and fragile and so needy..i must breathe and find the gentle way. |
