MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Hi Everyone, thank you for letting me join in your Autism Support Forum. As one very exhausted mom I really appreciate this. My son Andrew is 5yrs old and has significant heart problems which has required 5 open heart surgeries, a Trach and a feeding tube. So now that we have a suspected Autism dx i am wondering when this will all end. I have to say though that this Autism is really kicking my butt because I have no idea what to expect. We have so many temper tantrums and quirks and speech delay, I guess I am still in denial though because I keep blaming in all on his heart issues. I don't know, I just hate the word Autism. Its just a label they say, but really its so much more than that. And I wonder how do other parents deal with this? I should say I am a single mom trying to deal with this, dad ran away when it got too rough which was obviously right away. Well thank you all and hope to be back very soon.
