MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

I thought it would be fun to hear cute stories of your kids saying the silliest things at the least opportune times!

I have 4 kids, 2 of them are ASD. My oldest daughter, when she was 3 years old, was crying one day. As she wiped a tear away from her eye and looked at it, she said, "I have ....... sad water". I didn't realize she had autism at the time, but I really loved how she saw her world so differently! Still do!

The other story I wanted to share was about 2 months ago, I had my 3 year old son with me at a family baby shower. He did well for about 2 hours, then just deteriorated. We wound up having to leave in a hurry with him screaming and hitting me. I tried to get him into his car seat, (he SAID he wanted to go home!), but he fought me, tooth and nail!

After MUCH wrestling and deep breathing, I got him strapped in and started my long drive home. (There were cousins his age there to play with, so I thought it would be a good outing for him - good practice!) Anyway, he kept up the screaming and thrashing about for a good 40 minutes on the drive home. FINALLY, about 10 minutes before we were to arrive home, silence came from the back seat. I was still seething, trying to calm myself down so I would be ready to let go the frustration when it was time to take him out of his seat. About 2 minutes of blessed silence came, and then in the happiest little voice, he sang out, "Nationwide is on your siiiiide".

I laughed, despite myself!

My 4yr old is typical(well she acts a little asperger, but no dr has said so) has a fascination with people's faces. She goes up to people and says things like, " you have old skin." Well, we were at the store the other day and we were paying the cashier...my daughter looks at the cashier and says hi nice to meet you...your face is covered in pimples!" The girl had a very bad complextion. I had one of those" you wanna get away" moments. I apologized and the girl said it was ok, but I know it wasn't. We have been telling her we don't talk about pimples and old skin. We went to the store the other day and another cashier had a few pimples...I was so nervous. My daughter said really loud, " we don't talk about pimples!" omg!!!!! So, now I have to check out all the cashiers and pick one Thats young with no pimples! Lol

Ibanez, that made me laugh bc Jenna has said similiar things. We were at Target a few weeks ago when she noticed an employee who had black hair and goth type makeup (very thick , black eyeliner ). Jenn pointed and yelled really loud "Look Mommy, a scarey girl!!" I tried to ignore it, but it just made her say it louder. the young lady locked eyes with me and i mouthed sorry. I reminded Jenna that we dont point or say things about the way people look. We were there a few weeks later and again, she did the exact same thing when she saw the same lady. ah!

On a different note, Jenna also has a computer type toy that is in the shape of an apple. Somewhere around 3 years old started calling it her "Comapple" COM (computer) and apple lol Love it. for some reason am drawing a blank on some of the other funny/horribly timed comments so i thought i;d share that Wink

These are great LOL! Sam is 6 and very vocal. Whenever we go to the grocery store or anywhere with a loud speaker he shouts at the voices coming out of the Speaker. He'll say "stop talking to Sam!!!!" or "don't talk to me!"

This one isn't really an outburst but it was funny. I had Sam in the bath and we were talking about birthdays and ages. He asked me how old I was, I said 36. So he thinks about it for a second and looks up like he just had an amazing thought and says "so I"m regular six and your old six!" uhhhh, yeah, buddy, something like that....

Chelsea doesn't use too many words yet, but last night she made me laugh. She absolutely hates having her hair brushed. Last night, after her bath, it was time. I went to get her hairbrush. When I came back in the room, she was standing on her head and laughing! Can't really brush her hair if she's standing on her head! Smarty pants. Smile

These are all so cute and funny. My son is 7 and repeats what he hears on television. So we went to Calif. on vacation stoped at a restaurant where they give you so much food! We got the kids fries. We told our son Look at all the fries they gave you! He says "Now that's not good for the colon"....lol!

Our older son and my hubby were buying a used car from this guy as they were looking at it my little guy says "Did you get the CARFAX".Smile

My 5 yr old nephew (yup, there's another one of us in the family now Wink) has a thing with pooping in the potty. He pees in it with no problems, but he will not sit down and poop on it. He waits for a time when there's a lot going on, puts on a pull-up, then goes in his closet and shuts the door. My BIL and SIL have been trying everything to help him get past this for over a year.

A few days ago, he came downstairs and announced "I pooped in the potty!". BIL went to check, and sure enough it was true! Everyone was so proud and happy. Grandma told him she would make good on her promise to buy him whatever he wanted. He was really excited.

The next day, his mom found a pull-up with no poop in it hidden in the bathroom garbage can. He had done his usual routine, dumped it in the toilet, hid the evidence, then made his proclamation. How smart is that?!?!?

He still swears it wasn't him. It was the Elf on the Shelf. He was bored because Christmas was over.
