Just a note that I am not a doctor and my advice is purely my opinion which should be regarded as such.

Have you heard of Dennis Debbaudt? He's a national speaker for autism, risk and safety management. My husband is a police officer here in a big city. Last year the Chief of police asked my husband to go to the seminar so that he could bring back the information to share with the rest of the police force. My husband said it was a really informative and valuable seminar. Not only was the seminar for law enforcement it was for all emergency professionals like ambulance, fire etc. My husband met Dennis after the seminar and was given a lot of information to share. My husband and the chief organized mandatory training for all officers.

It's extremely important that autistic individuals are treated carefully for the safety of everyone involved. I'm glad word is getting out! Thank you for sharing the link!

No I haven't heard of Dennis, but I too am very glad that more emergency personnel are getting trained in handling a situation with someone who has autism. It means a great deal. I bet your husband was proud to meet Dennis, and to be able to attend the seminar. He too is on both sides of the fence. I bet that really gives the officers a lot of the information that they need coming from a father of an autistic child.
