Im only on 25mg but I dont feel any different Im just wanting something to make me cope with daily life a little easier..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and if I could take Vicodin everyday I would be happy but I know that's not a healthy option lol

Yah, the Vicodin would probably not be the best thing to take. Smile

I have been on Zoloft before, but it mostly helped me with social anxiety (I don't really have social anxiety, but it made me feel really comfortable in social situations) and not so much with regular anxiety and depression.

I am currently on Celexa 40 mg (for the anxiety and depression) and Lamictal 50 mg (for a mood stabilizer and to help enhance the effects of the Celexa).

Meds generally take 3 weeks for the full effect. How long have you been on the Zoloft?

Shannon

The anti-depressants/anti-anxiety meds aren't addictive. It's pretty amazing what a little pill like Xanax can do - WOW! Knock you right out!

How often are you following up with your doctor/counselor?

I'm also on Celexa (20mg/daily), and I've also had Lexapro (very similar to Celexa, but a newer version and more expensive). Both worked really well for me and keep the anxiety symptoms at bay. I didn't do well with Prozac at all, but other people have told me that it helped them.

I really liked Lexapro, but it made me sleep alot and it also gave me really cool, vivid dreams. Definately don't have time to sleep with a child on the go!

dejamayhew - were you sluggish before taking the meds or is this somthing that is new?

Many of these meds work for both depression and anxiety, so even if the diagnosis isn't right on, you could still be taking the right medicine to help you. My symptoms were similar: feeling tired and run-down all the time, and I also had back pain. My doctor put me on Lexapro first, and it helped me quite a bit. Then I switched to Celexa because it was cheaper and available as a generic. It can take up to six weeks for the medicine to be fully effective, so give it some time. And you may have to try a couple of different meds before you find the one that works for you. Hang in there!
