Just wanting to say hello and introduce myself. I'm a mother of three wonderful children, and unfortunately my daughter has suffered asthma all of her life. She is now eight years old. Her asthma has only got worse, and she's taking high doses of medications for asthma. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lilmom56

Hi Lilmom56,

My daughter, age 10 yrs, also has asthma. She has an extremely difficult time with sinus infections. Her asthma, though scary at times, seems to be very well controlled.

Hope to get to know you better

Hello, When you both said your children have had asthma all of their lives, at what age was it first diagnosed?

My son is almost 2 and has been diagnosed which didn't surprise me at all but it's very upsetting.

I think of the future with sleep overs & school trips etc & how i will worry about a sudden attack.

How have you coped with these things?

His asthma so far has been only after having a cold for a couple of days so i know when to expect it but i am at a stage of wanting to keep him away from people with colds. I can't wrap him up in cotton wool but i am so scared he will get sick all the time.

Please help.
