Is your doctor working to identify your triggers or treating the allergy that is causing the asthma? If not...actually as severe as your case is even if your doctor is, I would ask for a referral to an allergist. They will know to attack the allergy as well as just the asthma.

Do you know what is triggering it? If you don't there is no way you can take precautions to avoid it. I don't know that they would attempt a skin prick test on you at this point but they may still be able to test some other ways. If nothing else an allergist will know what some of the strongest and most current allergy meds are for you to try. I hope you can get something to help you soon.

Well since I wrote last I have switched Dr's again and she sent me to an allergy and asthma specialist that placed me on spiriva and I have been feeling way better. I am a candidate for xolair and see the specialist again in a week. Why wasnt I sent to this guy months ago? I am so glad I found this Dr. I am in cardio pulmonary rehab to help me get my mobility back and should be back on my allergy shots soon. My old Dr sent me to an allergist that couldnt handle asthma related issues instead of an allergist that could. I am just glad I can get around better. Thank God my new Dr for the Refferral and just the hope I had that I would get better and my family for dealing with the issues.
