MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." How much does everyone here exercise? I have the worst time motivating myself to work out (for lots of reasons, but mostly fibromyalgia limitations) but this summer I'd like to get into better shape. I'll try walking more and hopefully find a good place to swim, but my biggest problem again is the motivation thing.

I do about 4 or 5 mornings a week. I don't exercise hard or intense though. I just do VHS movies I find in thrift stores and do them at home. I won't exercise in front of people.

Good luck in your goals.

Ah yes, motivation to work out. Sometimes, I have so much, I just wind up hurting myself haha. I am all or nothing with it mostly I guess. Recently I have gotten an app for that though! Smile 10 mins of a pre-organized workout, no tools needed, just yourself. Click play, and listen, and do! Got another one that has daily ones. Start out easy, go up. Also got wii work out games haha. Involving techonolgy with woring out is what helps me.

AND spa balls!!! LOVE them! SmileSmile Good for you to just sit on, easier sit ups, better leg and arm work outs. mostly , I like to sit on them though haha.

I have osteoporosis symptoms, so working out does cause a lot of pain. But, it is temporary mostly. I don't think I have fibro like my mom thought. I read more about it, and I'm sorry you have to put up with that. I have heard walking is the number one best exercise though. Which I am guessing would be a better pick for fibro. Smile

Torres, that is awesome you are consistent with your exercise! And, I don't like working out around people either!

Great job keeping up the consistent exercise! Smile Although, for me it's the exact opposite. I need someone to work out with to keep myself doing it - doing it by myself daily or every other day just gets too repetitive for me. But doing it with someone else helps me categorize the experience differently, if that makes any sense. It's never the exact experience if you do it with someone else because they may say something different or help differentiate the experience from others. By yourself, it just feels like the same song and dance each time to me. Though, I must admit the guilt factor of not showing up to workout with a friend would probably be my biggest motivator.

That makes sense too yoshi. That's how my sister is. I just like my space when trying to breathe properly, and when using a lot of energy. I have a hard time with coordination with other people around sometimes. And, also I don't breathe normally naturally, I have to put effort into it. Breathing well is very important to work out. Well, I do otherwise I have asthma effects, and sometimes start seeing black dots and almost pass out haha. I love repetition when it comes to work outs! Funny how it is so different for people. But variety makes the world much more interesting!

Yeah, yoga can be convenient. For me though I gotta be careful with it or else it'll make my body even worse. It's a constant balancing act (as some of the most difficult yoga poses can be I guess).

There are many many poses. If you have enough balance to walk somewhere or sit and lean to eat etc. or sit and spread out your legs, there's some you could most likely do.

Oh I know. I didn't make it clear enough that my struggles aren't with the poses, but with doing the actual poses properly as to not hurt the fibro. If the muscle is stretched the wrong way, it gets stiffer and overall worse. It's very easy to just barely do them wrong with a lot of poses, that's all I was saying. I know there are some I can handle... there's one I do from time to time.

Oh okay gotcha. That's too bad. Sorry your fibro hurts you so much yoshi! People I have known with it have grown rather fond of yoga, but theirs really might not be too bad. Possibly not even fibro.
