Hello to you both.
I am 39 years old and have old been diagnose with RA since October of 2012, so for a little over 7 mths. And it went from two joints to every joint RA can go to in that short period of time.
So while I CAN understand where you are coming from, I can not imagine having going through it at such a young age and for so long. To me, my life span has just shortened by 30 years. My hands have already begun to cripple, but I am much older than you as well. There are so, so many thin...

I hope it gets out to you all.

I am a 22 year old female with systemic onset JRA. I was diagnosed at 10 years old and have been treated in New York, Philadelphia and at Dartmouth. I began taking Ilaris in July 2012 (prior to Ilaris I had taken most medications out there--humira, methotrexate, kineret, thatlidomide, cyclosporin...) I had my flu shot in January 2013 and began experiencing muscle related problems soon after. I generally get my flu shot every year and have never experienced anything like this.
Sounds horrible. I wish they would have more insight on what these autoimmune reactions are. I've been dealing with a lot of pain since I was a child and recently I had hip surgery.

The worst part is that people are not always smart enough to understand that even if you are not having fluids flowing or body parts falling off you might be sick and in pain. Most of the time you get the feeling that they think it cannot be as bad as you say it is. I guess this is one of the main problems you ar...

Hello, my name is Amber. My 11 year old daughter Emily, was recently diagnosed by her pediatric nurse practitioner as having arthritis. We originally went to check on my daughters knee pain she was experiencing. Emily at the time was a very active dancer. She had classes 4 nights a week, so I just attributed k.nee pain to a dance injury. So after treating with Advil, ice, wrapping the knee lots of resting the swelling had not gone down, still in extreme pain along with a warm kee unable...

One of our twins (18months) Might have JRA, not diagnosed yet. How long did your kids stiffness last? She wakes up with stiffness and a limp but it only lasts for maybe 5 mins then goes away. The knee is always swollen though. This has be going on 4.5 weeks we see specialist tomorrow. Hoping its not JRA but maybe fluid in knee or injury.
Thanks!...

Hi everybody! I'm 14 and my doctor recently referred me to a rheumatologist. My infectious disease doctor isn't sure what's wrong and I won't be able to see the arthritis doc for a month. I'm worried and want to know what's wrong. I thought maybe some of you would have some insight and could tell me if this sounds like arthritis or not.

So, I had lyme disease for a few months this fall. I took six weeks of antibiotics and my ID doctor said that should have done the trick.I don't play sports...

My 3 and a half year old has had strange symptoms for a couple of years now. Waking up screaming in agony saying his knees hurt, or sometimes ankles. So bad that he collapses and can't walk, but by morning it is all over. He can get those type of episodes every few nights for a few weeks, and then nothing for months. In November he got ill with a high fever, abdominal pain ( no vomiting or bad poos) and a large and extremely painful lymph node. It lasted 11 days, he saw a few doctors and no one...
