Doc wants my taking 50mgs of Seroquel along with my Xanax for panic attacks.I've read so much about weight gain and I have an eating disorder and scared to death to gain weight!!!I don't see how this is going to work.

My anxiety issues have been with me since I was 10 and I'm now in my 30's.Every day is a struggle to function.I'm scared of the simplest things.I just need some advice about this medication.I've had it since Friday and still haven't taken it out of fear.Any help would be appreciated.I've even tried to convince myself to just take 25mgs half it.But I'm still worried about it.I told the doctor I took it about 6yrs ago and it turned me into a Zombie, couldn't function, things appeared to be going in fast motion example a car driving down my road looking like it was going 100mph when actually it was more like 35mph.Oh well, hope people can help me here.I'm new to all this

Don't cut them in 1/2!!!!!! It won't work the same. It is way stronger at one time that way. I was warned against it. Is it the Seroquel XR, time released? Maybe it's different for regular Seroquel than the XR, but you mess w/the time release when you cut it.

I must say, I can't imagine taking it w/Xanax (tho I have never taken it) tho. Would the Seroquel be a maintenance med for you, and Xanax for attacks only? I definitely would not take them together until you are used to the Seroquel. And make sure you are near your pillow at 1stWink

Oh no it's not time released the pharmacist said that I could cut it in half if I wanted to.I guess it's because he doesn't want to increase the Xanax so he's wanting me to try Seroquel at night as a add on to help the anxiety disorder. It's only 50mg gee I've read some people taking 300,to 500 mgs daily.I'm not bipolar haven't been diagnosed bipolar in over 10 yrs.I just thought Seroquel is for other things.Bipolar,Schizophrenia, sleep disorders but not constant panic attacks.

Well it's a mood stabilizer...so it will help w/the thoughts that make you want to stress out, I either don't have them anymore or they are short lived, and can easily turn myself around. I sent you another message on the other discussion that you posted that was more detailed of my experience. I was trying to figure out how to add friends, I don't know how...lol

Seroquil did absolutely nothing for me! It was like taking a placebo!

Okay well I took it a couple of times over 5yrs ago and it made me the walking dead. That caused a feeling of being out of control. Not good, but everyones different so I here.I see you take Neurontin I used to take that about 9yrs ago,it helped some I got up to 800mgs a night. But If heard that neurontin doesn't help anxiety let me know if you feel different.I see my doctor next week and have to figure some things out.I've heard good things about Klonopin for anxiety disorder so I remember it working for me in the past.

Hey just seeing if anyone will be around later.I haven't heard back.Been having a hard time today.Going to try to spend time with boyfriend but he doesn't understand the panic thing at all.I wish I had a magic pill to make my life like it used to be.AT times I was fearless.Drove on the interstate, went anywhere I wanted,I miss my freedom.I can't get up the nerve to leave my house and go to the store.I've been falling into a dark depression today.I guess knowing that my boyfriend can't even muster up any words of comfort is upsetting to say the least.

Do you know what it is you panic about? Is it people or situational?

My pdoc said to me that most people are paranoid that people are watching them and thinking things about them. But in reality people have just as much on their minds as we do on ours. When we are standing in line at a store and are thinking people are watching you buy twinkies and thinking things about that, they are probably really thinking....shoot! I was supposed to get some twinkies and I forgot...did I forget to add milk to the list too...will I get home and be P.O.'d that I forgot it?! Is there twinkies at the next store, so I don't have to lose my spot in line, maybe I can just pick milk up there too...to be safe. You know what I mean, I'm sure. I had never thought of it like that before.

Hi

Remember what we are reacting to is the overloading of our senses. To much light, movement, noise, activity...we ar'nt afraid of the people and the store. maybe start small like a tiny cafe or a small coffe shop. I have left supermarkets in a rush so I know what you mean.: W00t W00t W00t W00t W00t bee small cat
