I think we have really had it come through before in '06. They are straight line winds. It rolled in at over 60 mph covered the length of the entire state and ripped through. Trees bend in half, there is debris in the air, trees snap in half and litter roads and homes. Wind speeds I heard reported up to 90 mph and damage reported comparable to that of a hurricane. So you know in a storm where you go out to see if you can spot a tornado well it's differwnt because t's just everywhere. It's like you're in the middle of it and it does make noise. It roars. The derecho started near chicago and went towards thhe east coast. Like 6 states are without power and so far I heard Ohio and West Virginia were declared Emergency Disaster areas. Many are still without power and we were told yesterday the same weather pattern was developing and we could have another come through but it didn't happen so we were relieved because of that.
