MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

My anxiety keeps creeping back, despite my medication. I am on 40 of paxil and have currently been taking seroquel at night and valium every 4 to 5 hours. So I am pretty maxed out on Meds. I was feeling ok a couple of days ago but between the holidays and the stress, I think it caught up with me. I also have a tendency to binge drink and I was basically told that drinking makes your meds not work. I just want to feel normal again and not be in constant fear. This is a horrible horrible feeling! Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Thanks for your response!

I have been on paxil for 11 years(20mg). Last spring I tried to switch to zoloft because my husband and I were considering starting a family. well that completely backfired because my PCP did not taper me correctly and I was having major personal issues, so I went back to paxil. I was so messed up I went up to 40 mg. It worked wonderful over the summer so my doc and I decided to go down to thirty. Within a month I was feeling bad again. then I felt good again and now I feel bad again. The only thing I can correlate it with is the holidays and the drinking. My husband does not seem to understand because I was fine for so long. I am trying to figure this out myself. I just want to feel normal again and not feel like I am losing my mind.

Thank you so much. sometimes I just need to vent. Do you have any advice in the meantime to get through the day, hours, etc?

Thank you Stevie. I will try to do some of these things. I think the worst thing to do is stay in my house but I tend to get a little agoraphobic when I get this way. Thank You!

I did clean, go out and did a little food shopping, listened to some music. Felt better but it comes in waves. I am trying to just figure out how to explain this to my husband because I feel that either he tries to trivialize it. Don't get me wrong, he is extremely supportive, but he has never been through it so I think it is very hard for him to understand and often does not know how to handle it. and I often do not know how to express it. any thoughts? Sorry to be a pain in the butt!

That is a very good example! I have been meaning to tell him! I have been feeling better at night but then the morning comes and I am back to my old feelings and anxiety and this makes me extremely nauseous! It's so scary....I just want to feel normal again.

Hello Steve; You suggestions are very helpful. I am atempting to spend some time weekly doing my scrapbooking projects.

It gets my mind off of the anxiety I deal with on a daily basis, but I sure need support in being committed to keep up with it.

Sometimes the motivation just isn't there, but once I begin, I find some relief.

thanks
