I woke up twice last night having a mild panic attack. This has never happened to me before. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Can dreams do this or is it something else??

I second Chanda's predicament. Nightmares + anxiety attacks = one terrible night. Maybe try spending time thinking about happy things before bed? Or try to resolve any fights or conflicts with loved ones or friends before you go to bed? I know when I've had a tiff or I'm upset with someone I will tend to have more nightmares and panic attacks..

FEEL BETTER!

The key to facing difficult times in life is a bad memory and a good sense of humor. preferably a sense of humor first so you don't look crazy when people ask what you're laughing at =P

I usually read right before sleep or have my husband read so my mind don't race with worries

Taking a nice hot bath helps

If i wake up from a nightmare i take a bath because going to sleep right away is a recipe to have the same or simular dream

Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
Maybe someday you'll look up,
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"

You won't cry for my absence, I know -
You forgot me long ago.
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
I know what you do to yourself,
I breathe deep and cry out:
"Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?"

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

And if I bleed, I'll bleed,
Knowing you don't care.
And if I sleep just to dream of you
And wake without you there,
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

i, most of the time, wake up periodically thru the night in a panic mode. it's scary! its different when you're awake and can brace yourself for the panic attack... but when you wake up already in one, its very very scary. i sometimes wake up jumping out of bed and find myself pacing back and fourth and out of breath. then when im fully awake i'll tell myself its fine. (but it doesnt feel fine)

even sleep meds dont help sometimes.

just hang in there!

Ya, its hard to calm yourself down, when u wake up frantic, I hate night panic/anxiety attacks, it like your half sleeping still and dont know what the heck is going on. Sometimes, I will have to get up and tal to myself, get on the comp., distract myself to calm down, other times Ill wake up having one, think about it a lil, then go back to bed, but it is hard. Hang in there!
