Houseguests yes that's a real stressor.

Take lots of deep breaths and relax as much as you can.

I'm sure you will do fine let us know how it goes.

I especially don't like unplanned visits. This really stresses me out. When i do have visitors, the experience has to be carefully choreographed now to minimize the stress impact.

I am the same way Cyber.

My mother in law was notorious for the pop ins and then all types of anxiety provoking behavior during those pop ins. No wonder I struggled with it.

You know sometimes at the time you don't realize why you are having such a difficult time with something.

I can look back with what you present Cyber and recognize she was triggering my anxiety over and over.

That is the reason for my discontent with her in general.

And she would not stop even when I asked.

So there it is plain and simple.

MY anxiety.

Wow, IC Damsel. Has it always been like this with your MIL? How was the relationship before you married her son?

I just didn't have enough experience with her yet to be able to save myself from the crazy.

It's not that it is just personal against me it's just what she does and how she relates to people in general.

Knowing that it is/was my anxiety or much of it helps me to cope.

Yep, it does help when you know exactly what the triggers are.

One thing I learned after my hospital stay was that, "people are not against you, they are just for themselves". I keep this in mind when I get anxious about how someone is reacting or acting and it has helped me to catch myself. Once I get on that hamster wheel, it is hard to get off and get the anxiety down.
Regards,

Richard
