Hi guys , i had a 'revelation' last night , while watching a movie . It was related to another thread , but i can't find it anymore so i started this one .

In the thread i am unable to find anymore , someone was asking about possible physical symptoms of agoraphobia or anxiety .

Ok , the movie i have seen last night , an old movie , The 13Th Warrior , with Antonio Banderas , he was an ambassador that had to became a warrior , but he had a lot of problem until that point .

There was this scene that ringed a bell . They were in a house , and when someone took the blanket off the bed , some atrocities were revealed .

Banderas saw that and he suddenly went outside and started to throw up .

Nobody hit his belly , he didn't had any bad food , he was perfectly healthy , he just had a reaction caused by the brain , after the visual impact .

My point is that during anxiety/panic attacks or even agoraphobia attacks , we can have different unpleasant symptoms caused by stress and mental pressure , and they are even normal .

I mean , how many of us didn't throw up or got scared by seeing some ugly or gross things , but none of use was thinking that it's abnormal ?

The difference is it's like a quick reaction that passes and the person goes on living their life.

We get stuck in the reaction cycle.

Yes , but my point was to show you that the brain is capable to cause all these symptoms and many more . Today i got a call from my ex gf . She said her father almost fainted when he found out that her brother spent a lot of money on gambling . She asked me to talk to him , which i did . He is a very healthy man , his BP was 120/70 last week , when he checked it . he said there is no pain , but a sensation of weakness and blurry vision . All of these created by nerves , by a shock .

What worried me a bit is that he said : i am feel better now but all that's left is fear of not having another .

Yep that's how it starts isn't it.

A somewhat isolated incident perhaps but our fear keeps us trapped in the what if?

It all depends on how we cope.

These things do happen to people.

They either go on and don't think twice or they become obsessed with that one event.

Indeed . But the better we understand it , the sooner we will get rid of it .

I notice my senses off.

I am eating hamburger and it tastes like fish.

Right away I said oh no this will harm me and then I think why?

I know this isn't fish it's hamburger and so what if it was fish?

Our brain is like a riddle sometimes.

Brain .. The more developed the brain is , the more possible problems can arise . A very powerful brain can be a tool to build or a weapon to destroy . And it can even fight against us , if we can't handle it's power . It's like a 1000 hp car that we are not able to handle it .

Matthew 5:3 : Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

I'm an Advocate

There is a fine line between genious and insanity. A lot of our most accomplished individuals ( science, math, creative arts) have mental illness diagnosis. Bi-polar being common)

Additivia: I have a name of the person who studied identical twins seperated at birth. I am at the library and will send it to you later.

Damsell: My sences are off too, espically taste. Meds? bacteria from false teeth? Whatever, it sure takes the fun out of eating. lol

Hi Gina , this syntax can hav different approaches : "have mental illness diagnosis" . DIAGNOSIS . By who ? By doctors . Just because we are unable to understand a person's reactions and thinking pattern , doesn't give us the right to diagnose him as a person with mental problems . I said it before , we are not standard models . We are unique . I have discussed this syntax with my psychology professor , when i was still at school : " you are two-faces person " .

He told me that in fact this is wrong , a man can have up to 2000 "faces" , characters masks he is using depending on a certain situation .

There are things we can't understand , but other people can . Take the illusionists by example , or all those magicians . They are able to do things that we can't explain .

Damsel , you can include the possibility that you really had a fishburger by mistake . Something similar happen to me , but with coffee . I asked for a decaf , the waitress came with the coffee , but after i drink it i felt it was not decaf . I went down and asked her , are you sure it was a decaf ? She replied : did you asked for a decaf ? Oh i'm sorry i think i missed it and brought regular instead .
