MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

DO NOT QUIT lamotrigine cold turkey . Talk to your doctor first , also you should seek medical attention for any unexpected skin rash, as its presence is an indication of a possible serious or even deadly side-effect of the drug. Read the black box warning .

Lamotrigine side-effects include loss of balance or coordination, double vision, crossed eyes, blurred vision, dizziness and lack of coordination, drowsiness, insomnia, anxiety, vivid dreams or nightmares, dry mouth, mouth ulcers, memory and cognitive problems, mood changes, runny nose, cough, nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, weight loss, missed or painful menstrual periods, and vaginitis. The side-effect profile is different for different patient populations.

I suggest you to talk to your doctor about your problem , because lamotrigine is one of a small number of FDA-approved therapies for seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy. And your PTSD , anxiety and depression have nothing to do with epilepsy .

I don't understand why so many doctors are prescribing anti-epileptic medication for post-traumatic stress disorders , panic or anxiety disorders . I am not a doctor , but there is no sense at all , since epilepsy has a difference mechanism of action .

I would report it to your doctor.

I'm glad to hear that it's working but I would want him to see you and the effects it's having and see if he feels it's just a normal effect or a negative one.

I think there might be a drug they can give to help reduce those effects but I want you to be safe and healthy.

Wishing you the best and hoping you find answers.
