hi Carol

i have been feeling like this too lately. For me I have had a lot of pent up anger. I think I am angry with the intense anxiety and how it holds me back I am waiting to go on meds. Does you meds help with your anxiety and what ones are you on if you don't mind me asking.

Today i piled up some large pillows of mine quite high and wacked the hell out of them with my Racket. I recognised after I still had more there so I did a bit more. I heard exercise helps. i also scream into my pillows.

I hope this helps

RizSmile

I think thats what it is too! The anxiety stops me from sleeping and its so frustrating because im so angry and so tired! I was put on seroxat for the OCD and anxiety and zimoclone ... a sleeping tablet. i think the combination of the tablets and counselling has help alot at the start but i seem to have hit a wall and i dont seem to be making any progress lately and that angers me too. I started jogging to try get rid of some of the adrenaline and anger! I hope you find a medication that works for you Riz! im already on lamictal for epilepsy and i just dont know yet whether or not to go see somebody about the anger or let it pass?

Hi Caroli & welcome to the group.

The intense anger is a new thing? If so, please tell the person prescribing your medications. This can sometimes be a side effect for some people on certain drugs. Mind you, I am not saying that this IS the reason, but discussing it with the prescriber will let them know how you are doing, maybe give you a little peace of mind.

Whatever you do, do not stop taking your meds without working with your doctor!

Finding out you have challenges like OCD and anxiety is enough to make one angry. Like life isn't hard enough already. Please come back and talk to us anytime. We're glad you found us.

Thank you, it is a new thing yes! I am going back to the doctor who prescribed them on Friday to see what can be done. Until then I may hit a boxing bag for a while!

I talked to my counsellor about this anger. She said at some stage I was going to get angry about it and it was expected. She actually advised me to get angry. It sounded silly but she told me to get angry at an object any time i get angry! Worth a shot!

Hi carol , seroxat needs at least 2 weeks to start working . Meanwhile you can have different experiences , mood changes , and why not , anger . I found out of my own experience that it is good to have a boxing sack around Smile . The anger must be released , or it will stack . So if you release small quantities from time to time , is better than a huge stack after a while . She told you that because she knew that after you would have break that object , your anger will be gone .

So I went back to the doctor who prescribed the seroxat in november and she changed them. She also said that seroxat has ALOT if side effects, and it wasnt unusual for anger to be one of these. She prescribed me a new anti anxiety tablet that is new to the market, don't have the name of it with me atm, typical! so ill see how this one goes! Smile

I had a very bad experience with Seroxat ( Paroxetine ) from the first pill . I will never touch it again . It was kinda working together with Klonopin , as he prescribed , but i wanted to know how this med will act alone . And i took one without Klonopin . It was really bad , it caused me a sensation of electricity on the left side on my body then a panic attack stroke . The i start vomiting until some blood came out ( sorry for being gross ) and this scared the hell out of me and went to E.R. They told me to have a peppermint tea Smile . I had the sensation of vomiting for 3 days . I will never touch that Paroxetine again . Paroxetine comes under different names as Seroxat , Paxil , Paluxetil , Paxetin , Aropax , Sereupin .
