We have added a special forum to the Congestive heart failure (aka Heart failure) support group - and it is for panic attack sufferers and for anxiety , and anxiety attack sufferers.

First we will make some threads of the symptoms of each.

Then we will compare the symptoms with heart failure patients.

And finally we will have some threads to guide us so we can easily and quickly tell the differences

We need volunteers from the anxiety group and volunteers who get anxiety attacks to pos ttheir symptoms in the Congestive heart failure support group.

Thanks

Hi

Are you asking for people who feel symptoms in their heart ( rapid beating, breathing problems, dizzy or faint)or have been diagnosed with chf already, or just have anxiety diagnosed.?

I am asking people who are anxiety diagnosed and who believe that they may have heart problems because the symptoms that they are experiencing feel like the heart to them.

Thank you Ginag.

Hugs, Raoul

I have been diagnosed with anxiety and just went to see a cardiologist. I just have to be sure. It is scary when your heart races. My blood pressure goes up too. I will search for this group now.

I have also been diagnosed with anxiety which is set off or, at least, made worse by perimenopause. I thought it was my heart at first because of the racing and pounding I would suffer. I have gone through several cardio tests that have all come back normal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to control the elevated heart rate? I hate it!!!

Hi i am debi i am an anxiety sufferer and it is commonplace for us to feel heart symptoms but always wise to see a cariologist for sure, i have explored positive thinking and i tell you what a difference meditation books and the group here self esteem and positive thinking has made in my life i read my meditation book every morning light my favorite incense and start the day with relaxation zen type music , it is a spiritual journey i am working on praying and trusting in a higher power to help me my anxiety got so bad i could not function well i am like a different person sure i still have anxiety buy it doesnt get so out of control, this is only a suggestion and surely not the only ways to approach anxiety, my personal experience is built on trust and belief that the more positive flows through me the less anxiety attacks i have i also take hot bubble baths in a panik attack, with candles burning i get into comfortable clothes and work on breathing slowly, i also put on my favorite perfume so i am doing aroma therepy also, so the mind body connection is truely powerful, you may want to try one of these techniques and see if it works for you, much love Debi images

People who have experienced heart issues...like heart attack often develop anxiety issues as a result.

Raoul is a heart failure patient that has developed anxiety and panic attacks along with his heart issues.

I think it's fairly common.

It is common to experience anxiety when you have heart problems, and it can be darned hard to tell the difference. I have CHF along with other heart problems AND anxiety. I am very good about getting this checked by the doctor regularly, which in turn lessens some of my anxiety.

I see there is some new interest in this thread -

Well the point is to help both people with anxiety and people with heart failure.

Why??? Simple - because when i go to the ER with anxiety - i undermine my credibility s a heart failure patient.

And when an anxiety patient goes to the ER they are immediately assumed to be having an anxiety attack - so if they are ever in heart trouble - they will be screwed .

So we need to find a method to distinguish these two common maladies.

And we need to find it before anyone else gets mis-diagnosed.
