I have been here before, and read some new information in post, and felt this group can be a good place for me too. I am also in panic attack group. Been a member since June this year, was a hopeless mess when I got here, but today I'm learning, dealing with panic in a possitive way as they come. This site changed my life for the better. The support had been incredible, I'm lucky to have found it, and to have meet so many people who understand panic.

I am not a Doctor, Nurse or Medical Professional. Im not even Dr. Seuss, Dr. Dolittle or Dr. Dre. :) I only share advice from my own personal experiences with Panic Attack Disorder. It is soley for information purposes only, please continue to take your Doctors advice. I share what I have learned, read, experienced and know what has helped me, I share this information in hopes it will be of help or comfort to someone else. Thank you! Smile Just looking for reinforcement tools and suggestions on keeping panic attacks away! The last bad panic I had was in Sept 2010. So I am excited and slightly nervous, I don't want to convince myself they are gone, but I don't want to dwell on them returning either. I still have anxiety, blur vision and dizziness, on and off, but I am able to breathe them away. How you been? We have so many new people here, just want to spread the love that we are here for them as well as ourselves. I want to believe I am on maintenance at this time of my life. I have promised myself to work on my stress both in my personal life and at work. Smile

Wow good for your Phil!!! I've been ok actually. I was really good for a while now I think it's time to up my meds by a tiny bit. Are you taking anything? I can't remember. Since i've become GL here I haven't really had time to hit the panic attack rooms at all. So I feel like i've not kept up with everyone Sad Shoot I wish I could say my anxiety and panic was gone..but the blurred vision and derealization and depersonalization just will not go away! Sometimes (like this morning) I still think i'm going crazy but I know better. I just wish I could pinpoint what is making me so anxious and panic ridden..it makes no sense my life is pretty uneventful and most people would consider it a good life..so I have no answers lol

Hey Ali,

I take xanax 0.25mg only for bad panic attacks. They are prescribed for 3 times a day. I can hardly take one, makes me too sleepy. if I am anxious, I'll take 1/2 or 1 if I can't get out of a panic attack after I have tried everything for about 20mins first. I do not tell myself they are gone, and I know it can return, but I will NOT worry about having one, that will only trigger it. I get mild aura's As I call them dizziness, blur vision upset stomach, I do a quick assess of what is immediately goiing on with me, am I stressed, worried, over worked, and start my slow breathing and listen to a guided meditation cd, it usually works. But if I should have an attack, I will get through it with tools or meds, I will not feel like I lost this battle and will continue to learn about what I can do to prevent them and live my life. I have been dissappoint too may times in the past, thinking I was cured only to have them come back. Difference this time? I'm not affraid of them or fear for my life, if it hasn't killed me yet in 10yrs I think I'm safe.
