Ok so I have to ask because the past few days i've been feeling kind of out of it again. Do any of you get the mental symptoms (confusion, racing thoughts,derealization,depersonalization) without having a literal panic attack? I've noticed my muscles are tense but my heart hasn't raced and I haven't had a complete melt down but my brain just feels funny. I think i'm feeling kind of like i'm generally ill at ease without the panic. I'm on 25mg of zoloft i'm thinking that maybe since it's been 2 months my bodys gotten used to it and it's time to up to to the 50mg I was originally prescribed...But I just wanted to see if anyone else feels this way??? Thanks

Yes, I have this! I have a couple times a day where I feel "unreal" kinda like derealization, racing anxious thoughts, memory issues, heart beating faster, but no real true panic attack. I have a lot of this heightened anxiety throughout the day...almost feels like I'm on the verge of a panic attack but it never peaks...just really anxious. Maybe its our meds helping us not to go full blown into the panic mode or something. I just went through another dosage increase so my symptoms might attribute to that but not sure. Hope your symptoms go away soon...you might need the dosage increase. Best to talk to your doc. Feel better Smile

Thanks Julanne! I asked her last time if I started to feel off if I should go up to the 50mg she originally prescribed me and she said that I should. I'm just afraid to! Last time I took a 50mg my thoughts raced sooooo bad! I'm going to see how this week goes and if it's not any better than next weekend I may very well move on up to 50mg.

Psalm 91

My Refuge and My Fortress

91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long lifrwill I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

AliKatt,

I think that those feelings are pretty normal. I am not on medication. I can feel racings thoughts, confusion and unreality for hours. I just assume I am in a highly anxious state. I wait for that dreaded panic attack but it doesn't always come. Generally, if I'm gonna get a panic attack it hits fairly quick into being anxious but if I've been anxious for hours I just get other things, mostly anxious thoughts and feeling spacey. The sooner I realize I'm alright (which may take hours) these feelings dissipate.
