Hi Theresa,

I was also very young when I started having panic attacks. I remember I had one in 10th grade right in the middle of the hallway. I ended up passing out, and it was SO humiliating. I also had one at the football stadium in front of...well....everyone. LOL Looking back, I think it was a lot more embarrassing then than it is now. Of course, practically EVERYTHING is embarrassing at that age. I think it's proof that God has a sense of humor.

My best advice is to talk to your teachers and make sure they understand what's going on. Then, if you need to leave the classroom, they'll know why. Also, have you talked to your friends about it? Sometimes it can help just knowing that someone has your back if you need them.

It's no fun, I know. Have you tried keeping a journal to keep track of the things that affect your anxiety? That worked well for me because I was able to recognize my triggers and do my best to avoid them.

Good luck with everything, and I hope you feel better soon.

Niki had some good advice. Just wanted to welcome you and let you know that my panic started very very young. When I was a baby I used to have panic attacks but no one knew what they were called. My father used to laugh at me and tell me how cute I was when I was having them.

Nice, huh? Well, don't be embarassed over them. Like Niki said. Let your friends and teachers know what's going on so you know someone has your back.

You'll make it through this.
