Has anyone felt like he´ll never be able to work again? Most working day morning since the fall of 2002 i wake up with intense fear, dong get up, got late to work-about 10-12 am, then obioulsy lost my job October of last year.

Then that creates another anxiety-fear of the future, what if -then that creates paralysis. I managed to get another job, starting in a week, but I dont think Ill be ablke to get here at 8 AM, to hold it.

Hev been on several medications

It feels like the morning is the start of a mined field, so if you get up about 11 am you are already almost half way danger-Has anyoune come out of this?

Hi Jerry! Welcome to the group...You've come to the right place! We all suffer from anxiety, for different reasons, but we're all familiar with the pain and stress it brings about...Losing your job due to anxiety's terrible, and it's perfectly natural and normal to be scared of losing your next job...Have you visited a therapist to talk about your anxiety and fear? What medications have you been on?

Hi Leomed, thanks a lot for your welcome. I have been on therapy with a psychiatrist for two years once every two weeks, I am now on

Alprazolam 0.5 mg once per day

Venlafaxin (Efexor XR) 75mg two per day

Carbamazepine 100 mg one per night

The main problem is every time I get up late about 10:30-11:30 AM, because i hide in bed from anxiety, I loose confidence in myself, which in turn creates more fear and so on. But sometimes I defeat all fears and get up say about 8 AM and I dont feel that bad. Lately it is getting worse due towhat if I can´t never get anoher job if I get kicke out of the next one, being 46 is very difficult.

I pray and hope I can get over this. Thanks for you listening to me.

I think you will overcome this, i'm confident you will, all you need to do is be nice and patient with yourself, 'cause getting over this sort of thing is a process, we can't snap out of it! Have you tried other coping skills and strategies besides meds? What has your doc recommended?

Hi Jerry...Welcome 2 the group...I no exactly how you are feeling....I lost my job 2 years agao due to the fact that it closed down where I was working......I guess we like to stay in our comfort zone.....Well I do.....So I had a parttime job witha friend for a little while but it was like 25 minutes from my home.....This created huge anxiety for me as I only used to be like 10 minutes away from home......i do not like to go tofar away from my home...It is my comfortzone I guess.......So I quit that & now i have been selling on ebay for like 2 years which helps pay the bills....I am not sure if I will ever be able to get another job out of the house...I am way to anxious & I feel the same way you do...So you are not alone........Smile

Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out how we feel, stop deciding what we want, and just see what happens.

Forget the past, it has already happened, worry not about the future, it has yet to come. Concentrate on today, and make every moment count.
