Does anyone know if restricting can cause eye problems, specifically eye muscle problems that can cause double vision? I have been seeing double for months. My eye doctor said it was from my thyroid. My thyroid med got corrected and the level has been okay for a long time now, and I'm still seeing double. The eye looked at my eyes and said it was definitely an eye muscle thing. I'm wondering if the eye muscles have atrophied??? You'd think eye muscles would be one of the body's top priorities. My next appt with the eye doc is in Sept but I have to reschedule, and I'm going to try to push it up sooner. Just thought I'd ask you all if you've ever experienced this.

Yes, it can cause eye problems. Some people actually go blind. I don't know if it's the muscle, or if the brain is atrophying because it isn't getting enough nutrients.

It's definitely something to talk to your doctor about. I have heard that sometimes people's vision goes back to normal after they recover.

I will definitely report back to you all what the doctor says! I plan to call on Monday and try to see him when he's in the office on Tuesday if this continues to worsen over the weekend. I don't have a driver's license, but if I did, I definitely wouldn't drive like this.
