MDJunction to me

sarahtroy"There's a special place in my heart for MDJ's Bipolars dealing with Alcoholism support group. As an alcoholic in recovery, it is my safe harbor. I draw strength and hope from our Bipolar alcoholics and addicts who bravely share their experiences and courageously face our common demons. This is a special, close and safe group to explore any alcohol or drug issues. I have made many dear friends and been sustained by the love and acceptance so freely offered." (sarahtroy)

Welcome to the Anorexia Nervosa Support Group!

As in all support groups, there need to be ground rules set so that everyone is on the same page with what is and is not acceptable in this support forum.

1. This group is intended to support individuals who are suffering with anorexia, seeking recovery from anorexia, and to support the loved ones of those suffering with anorexia. This group is NOT INTENDED FOR PRO-ANOREXIA activity, and if you see such activity on the discussion boards, please let one of the group leaders know so that we can take care of it.

2. Please listen to and support one another the best you can. Do NOT condem someone for their actions or try to push someone into recovery if he/she is not ready to be in recovery yet. You can, of course, encourage someone to seek therapy, counseling, or a treatment program, but do not try to force them to seek this help.

3. For everyone's safety and well-being in this community, no talk of weight in numbers, calorie counts, what specific foods you did or did not eat, what size you wear (or wore at one time) will NOT be permitted. Likewise, there will be no sharing of tips or tricks on how to be a "better" anorexic. This kind of talk encourages anorexia, and as was stated before, this is not a pro-anorexia group. Please refrain from this kind of talk. If I see posts listing numbers, weight, calorie counts, sizes, or specific foods, I will give you a warning and ask you to edit your post. If you talk of these subjects often or repeatedly, you may be asked to leave the group. Again, this guideline is for everyone's safety in the community.

4. None of us are medical doctors and cannot diagnose medical problems or consequences that are associated with anorexia. If you are experiencing a medical problem, please visit your doctor to have it checked out.

5. You are more than welcome to share your stories of struggle, celebration, and recovery. You are welcome to rant, ask for advice, and share the types of things that have helped you in your journey to recovery. You are welcome to share what self-help books helped, what type/s of therapy helped you, and so forth.

6. If you make bracelets, ribbons, run a journal about anorexia recovery or awareness, and so forth, you are also welcome to make the community aware of these things.

7. Please try to stay on topic. If you notice a discussion is going off topic, you can post a response and try to get the discussion back on topic.

8. No spamming this community, please!

9. Politics and religious discussion tend to provoke flame wars and arguments. For these reasons, we will not be discussing religion or politics here.

You are more than welcome to say "God bless you" or to ask for prayers if you would like, but please do not try to push your beliefs onto other group members. If you would like to talk about religion, you can do so over instant messenger (such as AIM or Yahoo IM) or over PMs with individuals who are also okay with discussing religion with you.

10. If you have any problems, questions, concerns, complaints, or suggestions, please feel free to PM one of the group leaders for assistance!
