Hello.

I'm new here.

I'm so glad to have found this site.

My mother suffered a ruptured aneurysm last April. She was 50y/o when this happened.

She has memory loss and seems very depressed. She went from being an active 50 y/o that worked and took care of her children (I have 2 teenage siblings that live with her & she's a single mom) to someone that doesn't remember a lot of things, has no desire to get up off the couch and get very anxious and nervous.

She cries very easily. Although she's driving, she gets very nervous which worries me a great deal.

I hope to communicate with others that have gone through this. I'd like to offer her the best support possible and we are all trying to understand our "New" Mom. Sometimes it seems I have to watch and give her more advice than I do the teenagers in the house.

We're all trying to be patient. Whenever I ask the Drs they just say that she's doing very well for what she went through.

I would love to find a local support group for her and for our family.

Thank you for the opportunity to find answers here and to communicate with people with similar stories.

Chin up belle the way you have described your mother reminds me of how I was.Expect this to last for up to 18months.Having an SAH is like experiencing a KO in a heavy weight boxing match, not only does it drain you physically but emotionally as well.I was constantly tired and driving was difficult because of judgement etc.Everyday skills seem to drain the brain because you have to think so hard trying to remember etc.I still live in lala land but my 4 children have learnt to live with me.My depression was more frustration having to learn to live again, the who am I what was I stage, regaining motor skills etc.I will always suffer this but Ive had to learn to live with it.Anyhows I better go before I babble you to sleep.Stay strong and make sure you look after yourself

Hello! I have an aneurysm (aortic) and other health issues. What you are describing is me! I cannot drive because I get very nervous, I have trouble remembering things, very depressed and have no desire to do the things I used to love to do.

I will be thinking of you in my prayers

To me annies are little time bombs that hide away deep inside. Some of us are lucky and they call in the bomb squad and they are dissfused before they explode. Some of us are not so lucky and unfortunatley have to go through the explosion some survive some dont.

Im only new here but i'd love to start a new topic where we can all share how we felt and reacted when we first met annie . .Maybe I'll call it when I first met Annie
