Blink Hi all. I have been trying to find another pain Doctor to help me with a mysterious problem in my thigh that started all at once for no good reason about 3 months ago. I found one and went Wed. This was the basic 'fill out the papers and an exam' thing, and the doc. told me to come back Thurs. the next day for an "injection". I did. I laid on the table and there was much ado with what looked like pictures and he felt around on the back of my knee, pin pointed a tender spot and gave me a little shot. Not long afterwards while I was drinking applejuice he came into the recovery room and asked me about my pain. Well, I did not feel any different at all! I am supposed to go back in 2 weeks for a follow-up.

Apparently he gave me a sciatic nerve block shot which I think was Lidocaine and it was to deaden things. Nothing happened. I realize now that I did not handle the situation very well in pushing the doctor at the time for more info. I just figured I would go hame and wait for it to kick in.I also did not plan on spending that extra money. I do remember him telling me that he could not guarantee how long it would last and such.

At any rate, has anyone here had any experience with this injection type treatment? I am at a loss now trying to figure out what to do. Doing the math real quick, and with no results, scares the hell out of me. The Gabbapentin I am taking has done well with the nerves thing, it is the muscle in the knee joint that is killing me now. Any opinions? thanks a lot, Jerry

Have you ever had an epideral shot for pain? Ive been blessed as far as pain goes. I havent ever had "bad" pain. I have heard of the epidural shots as an option.
