MDJunction to me

nvrsubtle"Not having any local Bipolar support groups where I live, MDJuntion has given me a place in which people understand what I am going through and has given me a new outlook on life with support that is real and good. Without
the support that I receive from MDJunction, I would be wandering through
life with no one who understands me. I owe so much to MDJunction for giving
me a life line to help get me through the toughest times.

Congratulations on your great score! I wish you good luck on your test thursday... but I have a feeling you'll be giving us good news after that too!

On my original post I said I had a 94.8 average and that is really what I had. All year long our tests were on computers and they frequently "changed" a few of our answers. I missed only two questions on the final exam and that gave me a 94.8 average. But it said I missed six which gave me an official grade of 93.1

The 5 extra points I spoke of earlier took me to an official average of 94.1.

Last Friday I took the written exam for my state certification and I passed but won't know officially for a week but I know I passed as there were only 8 questions that I kind of guessed at. I know I passed tho because you can't take the skills test if you didn't pass the written.

Monday I had to take the skills test and tho I was fairly confident that I knew all 28 procedures I didn't know each and everyone in perfect order. There are two parts to each procedure and you can make NO MISTAKES in the infection control part but you can make two mistakes in the other part and still pass. The examiner picks the 5 procedures. Another lady was scheduled with me to take our tests at the same time. The examiner shuffled thru her cards and got two tests that didn't match with each other for the 5 skills. Since the gal got there first she got to pick which one she wanted. This was a blind pick and she picked wrong!

I looked at mine and knew right then I had passed. I knew each and everything about the five I had to do. If I had to pick the 7 easiest skills to do the five I took were in that group. Sure enuf we both passed. It is now official, I am a Utah state Certified Nursing Assistant.

In four months they shoved a 882 page text book and the workbook is 431 pages. That's alot of medical knowledge and terminology to learn. That comes to 1323 pages and I am really sick of studying and will now take a few days off from the study work. After that I will have to study again tho as there are about 12 or 15 other skills that I have to know for the skills since they had nothing to do with the state tests so I didn't study them.

So my wife and I went to Applebees tonight for a celebration dinner.

Just a quick update. I got my score back from my written state exam. Got to have a 75 to pass. I got a 93. 12 sections to it and I had 100% in 7 of the 12. I never really was scared of the written test and I am quite satisfied with a 93 seeing as that was my basic grade for the 4 month class and I know I passed the skills portion because if you failed they tell you right then and there. Besides the examiner told us both that we passed. All I have to do is wait till the end of next week for my official license. All the job applications ask for your license number and then I can get serious about finding a job.

This ordeal started 13 months ago so I really am quite ready to go back to work and get into a regular cycle of normal living, whatever that means.
